Worthy Boyd Inc. started as Worthy Boyd Co. in 1908. It is the oldest continually operating cargo inspection company in Texas.
Started in 1908 by Worthy Boyd as a cotton weighing and sampling company, Boyd’s descendants ran the company until it was purchased by Paul Bohn in 1984.
Paul started in the shipping industry in 1977. His background includes weighing, sampling & inspecting goods from bagged rice, flour & sugar, to bulk wheat, corn and other grains. Additionally, his background includes cargo inspections of windmills tower components, automobiles, metal ores and concentrates including lead, copper, zinc and gold & silver bullion. Worthy Boyd Inc. became involved with cleaning covered hopper rail cars in 2007.
